New Robot Can Carry Items For Soldiers

Robots can't yet fight in wars, but they can help soldiers when they are in battle. Lockheed has introduced a new robot called the Squad Mission Support System (SMSS) that will carry items normally given to soldiers to carry on their backs. Soldiers usually have heavy items in their bags at all times, but the SMSS could change that.

The Pentagon would have to approve the use of SMSS robots in the field, and it they are approved, the vehicle's 125 mile mission range could prove to be very useful.
