The long rumoured 12-inch MacBook Air will enter production later this year according to a report out of East Asia. Apple will begin production of its new MacBook Air in the third quarter, but the report suggests that Apple is will use the current MacBook Air design.
Although there will be some design changes, those will only affect battery and internal layout, while the unibody aluminum chassis will remain the same. The reason for the 12-inch model is because Apple thinks the 11-inch model is not much different from the iPad and wants to establish a clear boundary between the two product lines.
