HTC may be having trouble getting the HTC One off the ground, but that isn't stopping the company from planning its next "big" (mind the pun) handset, which reportedly, is the second-generation Butterfly. While the HTC One could remain the company's flagship handset for the season, the next-generation Butterfly could seek out consumers who just want a feature-rich big smartphone.
The 5-inch, first-generation Butterfly was so successful in Taiwan and Japan, its original target markets, that HTC spread the device to others, like the US. There's opportunity for a new-generation Butterfly to pack some of the newer hardware introduced this International CES (January), and the company's own HTC Sense 5 user interface, introduced this year with the HTC One.
