Kim Kardashian: Hollywood is a casual social game that is so banal, it is shocking to see it climb up the Play Store and iTunes App Store rankings at such a quick pace. Since its release on June 25th, the Kim Kardashian mobile game has steadily climbed the charts, currently standing at 3rd position on the iTunes Free Apps list.
In fact, publishers Glu Mobile has had their stock price boosted by a cool 50% since in the last three weeks, since the launch of the game. Glu Mobile's current market cap has been raised by $100 million, thanks to Kim Kardashian: Hollywood.
Oh, and in case you thought I'm just a Kardashian hater, wait until you read the game's description:
"DATE AND DUMP CELEBS at the best parties and hottest clubs! Flirt and become the next huge celebrity power-couples!"
In-app purchases are generating huge revenues. So much that the game is on track to earn $200 million.
Such apps are targeted at 14 year old females, who then get sucked into this world instead of spending some quality time using an educational app. There seems to be no stopping the Kardashains, even while they spoil our kid's minds.
