A developer preview for the Google Fit SDK has been released. This preview will give developers a chance to see what the platform is going to be like, and it will provide some information as to how developers should be looking to create apps with Fit in mind.
The SDK offers some insight into how developers should begin utilizing all the different sensors located on Android devices. Between smartphones and Android Wear, there are more than enough sensors for developers to begin compiling data into more useful fitness applications.
One API included in this release lets devices pull data from other connected gadgets like a heart rate monitor every few seconds. That data, with the help of Fit, could be easily accessed on a smartwatch or smartphone.
