Microsoft Also Notifies Police About Child Porn

Microsoft recently notified the police about a Pennsylvania man charged with accessing and sharing child porn using his OneDrive account.

Microsoft uses its PhotoDNA technology to scan cloud storage and emails. The technology is able to recognize images of child sexual abuse, even if said images have been modified.\

Microsoft isn't the only company that scans emails for illegal photos. Facebook, Twitter, and Google all use the same technology, allowing them to develop a database of illegal images. A couple of days prior to Microsoft's tip off, Google informed the police about a 41-year-old restaurant worker who possessed child pornography.
