Next Nokia PureView Could Run Windows Phone 8, Snapdragon 800

Although Nokia's fabled Lumia 950 is said to feature a pinch of the company's PureView DNA in the imaging department, Nokia doesn't appear to be inclined to mongrelize PureView and Lumia lines. It could, however, make the inevitable switch to Windows Phone from Symbian, with its next PureView handset.

Sources hint at Nokia working on a new home for its 41-megapixel sensor technology that shames most mainstream point-and-shoot cameras with image and video quality, named PureView EOS. Simply put, it's the successor of PureView 808, featuring Windows Phone 8, an AMOLED screen with 1280 x 768-pixel resolution, and CPU options that include Snapdragon dual-core, and Snapdragon 800 quad-core.

It's also hinted that EOS could be launched in the US first, and as an AT&T-exclusive, and only 3 months later, it will begin rolling out on other US networks, and markets elsewhere around the world.
