The recent id Software acquisition, coupled with roping in of Shinji Mikami (directed early Resident Evil titles), and collaboration with his concern Tango Gameworks; gives Bethesda some solid chops with the survival horror genre. Their creation, The Evil Within, seeks to raise the bar with the genre, taking advantage of next-generation console and PC hardware.
Bethesda posted a cinematic reveal trailer for the game, which is rather abstract, but sets the tone for the game's voluminous high-tension environment. In addition to the PC, Bethesda plans to target all major current- and next-generation game consoles.
Caution: The trailer contains gore and mature content.
