Tim Cook Confirms No New Devices Until This Fall

With plenty of new 5-inch smartphones, there were expectations that Apple could announce its device to compete with the sudden rush of larger smartphones. During the company's quarterly earnings call, Tim Cook said that the company has no plans to introduce new devices until this fall.

"Our teams are hard at work on some amazing new hardware, software and services we can't wait to introduce this fall and throughout 2014. We continue to be very confident in our product plans. We've got a lot more surprises in store. This is the same culture that brought the iPhone and the iPad and we've got a lot more products in the works," said Apple CEO Tim Cook.

This means that a new iPhone, a new tablet, an iWatch, or any other new products will have to wait until fall. He also stated that the company would not ship a larger phone as they would have to sacrifice things like resolution, white balance, quality, app compatibility and more.

Apple finished the second quarter of fiscal 2013 with $9.5 billion in profit, but the lack of new products will definitely hurt Apple in the stock market. What do you think, will Apple release a bigger iPhone or they will keep the current philosophy?
