Panasonic Intros Lumix DMC-LF1 Compact

For those who need a camera with them all the time, and aren't happy with their smartphones to do the job, Panasonic rolled out the new Lumix DMC-LF1, an enthusiast-grade super-compact point-and-shoot. Armed with 150 Mbps WiFi and NFC, the DMC-LF1 ships with apps on App Store and Google Play, which let you immediately pull images off the camera, and to your smartphone, tablet, notebook, or any other computing device.

The Lumia DMC-LF1 tucks in a 1/1.7-inch 12.1-megapixel CMOS sensor, and a 28-200 mm, f/2-5.9 zoom lens, providing 7.1X optical zoom. The camera is capable of recording 1080p video with 60 frames per second, in AVCHD and MP4 formats. Other features include a 0.2-inch 200,000-dot electronic view-finder, a 3-inch view screen, optical image stabilizer, an on-device image touchup application, and various shooting modes.

Panasonic is asking a rather steep $499.99 for the Lumix DMC-LF1.
