Here's another reason you should take Valve's Steam for Linux seriously. The first public beta of Left 4 Dead 2 (L4D2) was released to the platform. It should begin appearing in your Library, from where it can be downloaded. Considering L4D2 was one of the earliest games Valve ported to the platform, which predates the first public release of Steam for Linux, it's about time. It addition to the full game (albeit beta, and prone to bugs), you get Left 4 Dead 2 Beta Authoring tools and Left 4 Dead 2 Beta Dedicated Server, which should show up in your Tools Library. Left 4 Dead 2 Beta for Linux is also a testing ground for Valve's Extended Mutation System. Valve also activated a dedicated forum for you to share feedback.
