Acer Shows Off Aspire R3 And R7 Laptops

At an event in New York, Acer has unveiled two new laptops featuring some intriguing design. The Aspire R7 is a 15.6-inch notebook which comes with a feature called "Ezel Hinge" while the Aspire P3 is an 11.6-inch convertible Ultrabook that can be used as a tablet.

The design of Aspire R7 laptop allows you to use it in variety modes. There are four different modes: the Ezel Mode allows users to pull the display closer, Notebook Mode is a normal mode where you are using the device as a normal laptop, Pad Mode transfers it into a tablet hybrid and the last one is a Display Mode where the screen is flipped over to showcase movies or similar things.

When it comes to the specs, the Aspire R7 packs an Intel Core i5 processor, up to 12 GB of RAM and a maximum 1 TB hard drive or 256 GB SSD. The 15.6-inch touchscreen display supports Full HD resolution. In terms of connectivity, there is HDMI port, SD card reader, audio jacks, and three USB ports, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, RJ45 and a VGA.

The Aspire P3 comes with a less radical design, offering all the benefits of an Ultrabook that can be easily transformed into tablet-mode. The 11.6-inch display supports 1366 x 768 pixels resolution, and it comes with a choice of either Intel Core i3 or i5 processors, 2 GB or 4 GB of RAM and either 60 GB or 120 GB SSD.

The keyboard is tinier than a typical, and it lacks a touchpad. Additional specs include one USB 3.0 and a micro-HDMI port, Acer Crystal Eye HD front webcam for 720p HD video capture and a 5-megapixel rear-facing shooter.

The Aspire R7 will have a starting price of $1299 and is available from June while the Aspire P3 is available now at a price of $799.
