Recently, many companies are not doing so well due to poor sales, high expenses or some poor planning. Sharp is one of the companies on that list that is trying hard to stop being among them. After the Samsung's investment has not worked for them, the company needs to make the last possible thing they can, and that is to reduce employees and redefine its focus.
According to a report from The Asahi Shumbu, Sharp is working on a three-year management plan in which 5,000 workers will lose their jobs. The main office in Osaka will see around half of its stuff cut, but the biggest layoffs are expected to see outside of Japan. The company will also reverse its focus towards small-sized panels for smartphones and other devices.
