Speaking with Eurogamer, an official EA spokesperson confirmed that FIFA 14 is skipping Wii U. Even though the game came with several new features, EA has decided not to release FIFA 14 based on poor sales of the previous iteration.
"Six months ago FIFA 13 was a launch title on Wii U. Although the game featured FIFA's award-winning HD gameplay and innovative new ways to play, the commercial results were disappointing. We have decided not to develop FIFA 14 on Wii U," said an official EA spokesperson.
Along with FIFA 14, Electronic Arts also confirmed that they will not be releasing a Wii U version of Madden NFL in 2013. Although the company has a strong partnership with Nintendo, there are no new games in development for the Wii U currently.
