Todd Hollenshead Resigns As President Of Id Software

In a statement to IGN, Bethesda's Vice President of Public Relations and Marketing, Pete Hines, has confirmed that after 17 years of leading the studio, Todd Holledshead has resigned as the President of id Software to pursue other personal interests.

Pete Hines stated, "While Todd was not part of the development teams, he was an integral part of id Software's success as the business head of the studio and we wish him the very best in his future endeavors."

Holleshead ran id Software as the CEO from the time he joined the company until they were scooped up in 2009 by Bethesda's parent company Zenimax. Following the acquisition, Todd served as the President of the studio.

The studio has not been having the best of times lately with Bethesda and id announcing that they were doing a reboot, or a refocusing if you will, on Doom 4 as it did not meet their quality standards. The lackluster commercial performance or their 2011 shooter, Rage, didn't help and allegedly resulted in Rage 2 being cancelled.
