SK Telecom's 150 Mbps LTE-Advanced Network Surpasses 150,000 Subscribers in 2 Weeks

SK Telecom, Korea's premier network operator, announced that their new, and proven to be the world's fastest, LTE-Advanced network has surpassed 150,000 subscribers in just two weeks since the introduction of the service. The supporting phone? The new Galaxy S4 LTE-A model with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 800 SoC.

LTE-Advanced is the world's fastest mobile network, offering download speeds of up to 150 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 75 Mbps. These speeds are nearly 10 times that of standard 3G, and much faster than the 4G LTE networks deployed in the US (which are, more often than not, slower than 3.5G).

Thankfully, SK Telecom hasn't just launched the new service in a single city or region, but across 43 cities not including the Seoul. The network operator promises of blazing fast speeds which will allow users to download an 800 MB movie in under a minute (gasps for air). Samsung's newly launched Galaxy S4 LTE-A model must be having a gala time with sales numbers.
