Huawei's Ascend Mate 6.1-inch phablet debuted in the UK, courtesy Vodafone. The carrier announced plans to bring the handheld to British buyers without revealing pricing just yet. Interestingly, Vodafone, in its press-release, named it its the biggest smartphone ever; indicating it's not quite keen on bringing the bigger Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 to Britain.
The Huawei Ascend Mate has the biggest battery in any smartphone by a long way. We've also got our own patented battery optimisation technology, which is designed to make phones last about 30 per cent longer than similar products," says James Powell, UK Product Director at Huawei.
The only other way Britons can get their hands on one of these is through Expansys, which is offering a contract-free variant for £339.99 a pop.
