A shipping manifest, which can be tracked online, revealed a small batch of tablets marked "SM-P900" and "SM-P905," headed from Korea to India, for testing and QA (quality-assurance). Its shipping declaration is most intriguing:
SAMPLE SAMSUNG TABLET PC, SM-P905 (SCREEN SIZE:-12.2) (FOR TESTING & EVALUATION PURPOSE,NOT FOR SALE) (SINGLE SIM)
It reveals that Samsung may have a surprise waiting for us at IFA, a new high-end tablet, featuring a 12.2-inch screen. There's already talk of Samsung toying with resolutions beyond 1080p for tablets, with some hinting at a 2560 x 1440 or 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution. The other big thing leading up to that is Samsung's announcement of the Exynos 5420 SoC, which features a faster GPU capable of handling displays at those resolutions.
SM-P900 and SM-P905 could both refer to the same device with connectivity differences. The P900 could be a WiFi-only variant; while the P905 could be a WiFi+cellular variant.
