Google's done it again. The Android app store, dubbed as the Google Play Store, is now officially the world's largest app store in the world. How did this happen? Well, Play Store surpassed the Apple iTunes App Store app count of 900,000 and set a new record.
The news was announced by Sundar Pichai at Google's breakfast event, which also saw the release of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, Google Chromecast (runs on a simplified version of Chrome OS rather than Android) and the new Nexus 7 tablet (which is nothing short of stunning).
Pichai also revealed that that Google Play Store app developers have increased their revenue almost 2.5x times in the last twelve numbers, very interesting numbers indeed.
