Avalanche Studios and Square Enix released the first Just Cause 3 gameplay trailer today. The game developers promise that none of the gameplay footage is scripted, staged, and is all done in-engine. If you are good enough, you'll be able to perform every stunt shown in the gameplay trailer released today. By the looks of things, almost every shoot seems to have a few hints of an explosion in it, and I dare say most of them involve death or grappling hooks. Or both.
Explosions. Planes causing explosions. Cars causing explosions.
People exploding I also saw a hint of toppling a statue with a plane, one has to wonder just how long that grappling hook extends. I'm sure there's a storyline interleaved somewhere within all those helicopter hijackings and destruction of an otherwise semi-peaceful island, but I'm not 100% just how many people managed to make it to full completion without getting sidetracked for several days. It still looks just as colourful, and I'm hoping the video options allow for some glorious looking graphics. It was at the time a truly awe-inspiring graphical experience. I cannot wait to spend eight hours of my life skydiving into a jump-jet and blowing up a refinery for an archived screenshot.
Just Cause 3 is now up for pre-order. If you pre-order Just Cause 3 now, you get access to the Weaponised Vehicle Pack, which includes three exclusive luxury vehicles. You might be a bit bummed out about the pre-order nonsense, but if I recall, JC2 had the same pre-order gubbins as well as a tonne of wild and wonderful DLC. No worries, it'll all be packaged up for a great price in the Steam sale that follows.
We still don't have any info on the Just Cause 3 release date. The game is under development for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
The #JustCause3 trailer contains no scripting, just cool camera angles and gameplay. You can do it all in the game, if you're good enough.— Avalanche Studios (@AvalancheSweden) April 28, 2015
