Yahoo Facing Class-Action Lawsuit Due To Email Spying

A large class-action lawsuit has been filed against Yahoo and that lawsuit alleges Yahoo spied on user email to boost advertising revenue. US District Judge Lucy Koh has decided Yahoo must defend itself against the nationwide lawsuit. Yahoo is said to have intercepted emails sent to Yahoo users from non-Yahoo accounts.

Users who've been with the service since at least October 2, 2012 can be part of the class-action lawsuit. It has been alleged Yahoo could have spied on emails from 275 million users. Emails and their attachments were searched and Yahoo scanned email content for keywords.

Up to 1 million non-Yahoo subscribers could also be part of the lawsuit.
