iPhone 5S Fingerprint Scanner Confirmed In Latest iOS 7 Beta

Folder name: "BiometricKitUI"

The long standing rumors of Apple integrating a fingerprint scanner into the iPhone 5S has finally been confirmed to be true (iOS fans cheering in the background, Android app developers scurrying to make an app out of it) after digging around the latest iOS 7 beta.

The code in iOS 7 beta 4 describes the process of setting up a "fingerprint scanner embedded in the iPhone Home button" which couldn't mean anything else but the long rumored fingerprint scanner. While there were many rumors surrounding a new display technology and touch recognition that would allow the display itself to turn into a fingerprint scanner, those rumors have been put to rest now. It is indeed the home button, a modified one, which incorporates a fingerprint scanner in it. The set-up tutorial will most probably feature the following:

"a person holding an iPhone with their left hand while touching the Home button with their thumb"

and

"a person holding an iPhone with their left hand while touching the Home button with their thumb"

The iPhone 5S is rumored to be unveiled in the month of September alongside the iPhone 5C and iPad 5. Not much longer now.
