At long last, iOS and Android users can access BlackBerry's legendary messenger. Introducing BlackBerry Messenger (beta) for iOS and Android. The app has finally been released for the world's largest mobile platforms, just as the company had promised earlier this year. Sadly, this doesn't mean that you can hit your respective App Stores and download the beta app right away. You see, it's a closed beta. You get to use the app only if invited by the BlackBerry team. Follow the instructions below if you wish to be the chosen one.
A quick note on the requirements. Your Android phone should be running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or higher. As for Apple users, you'll need the latest stable iOS 6.0 to use BBM Beta.
