YouTube Live Streaming Option Now Open To All

Well, almost all

Here's some good news for folks who've just started out with their channel on YouTube. Want to live stream yourself or something but not a YouTube partner yet? No worries, Google has you covered. The Mountain View company has reduced the subscriber count requirement. You don't need to have 1,000 subscribers (minimum) to be able to Live Stream an event. The limit, which was previously lowered in May, is now just 100. Anybody serious enough about their YouTube channel now has access to Google's feature. YouTube would also like to remind you of ways to increase your subscriber base:

  • Upload custom thumbnails of your videos
  • Use annotations to link externally in your videos
  • Place your videos in a playlist to drive traffic to other works by you
