Large Hadron Collider Potentially Finds New Particle

Strange data collected from the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) has led scientists to say a new particle has potentially been discovered. Two teams at CERN, the organization that operates the LHC, found an abnormal amount of gamma ray pairs that they believe are coming from the radioactive decay of a new particle.

It's entirely possible this is a false-positive, but the existence of strange data collected by separate teams already lends some support to the discovery. More data will be collected in the coming months and eventually presented at a convention in summer 2016.
