The long awaited Nokia Lumia Amber software update has finally begun rolling out to all of Nokia's WP8 powered Smartphones. There's a long list of supported devices starting from the Lumia 920, Lumia 820, Lumia 720, Lumia 620, Lumia 521 and the Lumia 520 as well, the Lumia 928, Lumia 925 and Lumia 1020 are already running on the newer software than the other phones.
Nokia Amber is a major software update for the Finnish company's Lumia devices. Apart from the usual improvements brought in by WP8 GDR2 (from Microsoft), Nokia has added its own improvements to spice things up. You get FM Radio (sans the Lumia 620, as it lacks the requisite hardware), and Nokia Glance Screen (sans the Lumia 520) as well as the new Nokia Pro Cam camera app, the same one that can be found on the flagship Lumia 1020 with the 41 megapixel PureView camera. There's Nokia Video Trimmer and Video Upload to help you edit your videos and share it with the world just as easily. Postupdating your phone, you can simply double-tap to wake up the device, as well as turn it over to mute the ringer. The storage checker app should let those non-expandable storage Lumia model owners to check what's eating away all their limited storage.
The update won't be hitting all devices at once. After the Lumia 920 and 820 get it, other US carrier variants such as the Lumia 521 will get the update. The entire update process should be completed by the end of September, another month and a half from now. To check if your country has received the update, hit this link.
