Preorders for the $400 HDK 2 virtual reality headset are now being accepted by Razer and OSVR, which was created through a partnership between Razer and Sensics. Early orders come with a free copy of Descent: Underground and Radial G: Racing Revolved, an offer that'll remain until July 28 while supplies last.
The HDK 2 comes with 5.5-inch dual OLED displays running at 2160 x 1200 and up to 90 fps. It offers a dual lens optics system for individual eye focus. External USB 3 connectivity is available, as are two internal USB 3 ports.
A few design changes bring more padding and other comfort-centric elements to the device.
Razer is continuing to sell the HDK 1 for $300. It has a 1080p display and a lower refresh rate.
The HDK 2 will be sold in the US and Europe initially, and it will expand to the Asia-Pacific region a few weeks after shipments begin on July 29.
