If you were hoping to soon be playing Shadows of the Eternals, the game touted as the spiritual successor to Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, you probably should not hold you breath as Precursor Game's second attempt at a Kickstarter campaign came up short.
The initial Kickstarter campaign was cancelled by the developers on June 6th stating they would relaunch it due to new, exciting developments to make the game even better than they hoped. At the time, the Kickstarter was sitting at $128,039 funded of a rather lofty $1.3 million goal.
They then relaunched the campaign on July 25th with a goal of more reasonable goal of $750,000. When it closed yesterday it had only reached $323,950 worth of funding from almost 6000 backers.
The game was supposed to see the light of day sometime in 2014 for the PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and the Wii U.
No one knows what Precursor Games will do at this point but a 3rd campaign is not out of the question. Third time the charm?
Here's the teaser trailer in case you never saw it.
