GoPro is about to announce its first new action camera in the last few years, but its competition isn't sleeping. Sony has just announced a new version of its 4K Action Cam called the X3000R. The main highlights of the new camera are optical image stabilization and face detection.
Sony also did some changes to the menu system. As for the specs, the camera features a redesigned Zeiss Tessar wide-angle lens and 1/2.5-type 8.2M Exmor R CMOS sensor along with Bionz X processor. It records 4K at up to 30fps and 1080p at 120fps. The camera is also waterproof up to 60 meters.
Besides the X3000R, Sony also unveiled more affordable AS300R. The only difference is it recording resolution, as it tops out at 1080p.
The X300R costs $399, while the AS300R is priced at $299.They are scheduled to arrive in the US in late September.
