Motorola Releases Moto X Kernel Source Code

Every popular phone has a lot of development going on for it. Take the Google Nexus Smartphones for example, you see more custom ROMs and even custom kernels for the device than you can remember, and almost each one adds a ton of functionality to the device. The kernel in particular is a tough nut to crack. If given the proper source files, a developer can modify it to even run your CPU and GPU at a lower voltage, thus extending the device's life, reducing its carbon footprint, as well as ensuring cooler operation. And that is where the kernel source code for a device comes in handy.

Interested developers can now download the kernel source code for the new Moto X. Motorola has released the code for not just the unlocked version of the phone but the AT&T, Sprint and Verizon variants as well. Hit the source link to be redirected to the download page.
