Russian Spaceship Destroyed During Resupply Mission To ISS

The Progress MS-04, a Russian resupply vehicle bound for the International Space Station, has been destroyed. Russian authorities lost contact with the ship after its launch from the Naikonour Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan last night. It was carrying three tons of food, fuel, and other supplies.

NASA says an "anomaly" in the form of telemetry issues appeared during the third stage of the mission, about 6 minutes 30 seconds into the flight. After contact was lost, Russia's Roscosmos confirmed the mission had failed.

This was the last of three Russian resupply trips for 2016. While it's an unfortunate incident, the astronauts on the ISS are still fine in terms of supplies.
