SpaceX's first launch since its September explosion is scheduled to occur on December 16. It'll use a Falcon 9 rocket to launch 10 satellites from Iridium Communications. When the Falcon 9 exploded a few months ago, it destroyed both the rocket and a satellite.
The FAA is still investigating the September incident and it must provide its approval for the launch. As long as approval is granted, SpaceX will show it can turn things around quickly even after a serious malfunction.
There were reports shortly after the explosion that claimed the company could be grounded for an entire year.
