In the past, external GPU units were very complicated and there were only a few solutions available. Thanks to the new Thunderbolt 3-enabled USB Type-C ports, companies have started launching external GPU docking station, including Alienware, Razer, ASUS, Gigabyte and Zotac.
The latest company, which was only a matter of time, that joined the group is MSI with the unit called GUS. The docking station can be outfitted with any desktop graphics card from both AMD and NVIDIA as it packs a 500W power supply that is more than enough for any GPU out there.
In addition to the GPU, GUS also packs two moer USB 3.0 Type-A ports, a USB 3.0 Type-C port, and a front-facing USB 3.0 Type-A port with QuickCharge. It is compatible with all MSI notebooks with a Thunderbolt 3 port and other notebooks that support eGPUs. There is still no word on pricing or availability.
