At CES 2017, Dell unveiled several new Precision workstations that were available with Microsoft operating systems. Now, the company is offering an option to choose Ubuntu 16.07 LTS over Windows and all models will begin shipping probably later this month.
Dell's 3520, 5520, 7520, and 5720 Precision workstations will all have the option, and the smallest 3520 is already available. Dell was one of the first companies that started offering Ubuntu-based "Developer Editions" laptops. They first started with a side-project called "Project Sputnik," and then expanding its offering with the XPS 13 Developer Edition.
