New Evidence Confirms That Chrome OS Is Coming To Tablets

Following first rumours that Google is working on expanding its Chrome OS to tablets, more evidence leaked online, confirming the rumours. Google confirmed it is considering support for models with detachable keyboards, and now code commits to the Chromium repository shows the addition of support for "devices having buttons but no keyboard."

The device in question has a codename Scarlet, and Chrome Unboxed found parts of the code that points out to the world's first Chrome OS tablet. The "Scarlet" tablet is expected to feature the same chip used in the Samsung Chromebook Plus, which is the Rockchip RK3399 hexa-core processor.
