SpaceX's latest Falcon 9 rocket launch from the Kennedy Space Center Launch Complex 39A was successful and SpaceX also landed its first-stage rocket at Cape Canaveral. The launch sent a Dragon spacecraft carrying 5,500 pounds of supplies to the ISS.
The launch site is a historic one. It was used for the Apollo mission in 1969 and it's the first time SpaceX has taken off from it. The last time the launch complex was used was for the 2011 Space Shuttle launch.
Two and a half minutes after the launch, the second stage separated from the first stage. Eight minutes after the takeoff, the Falcon 9 was back on the ground.
