Atom Chip Holds Back Windows 8 Tablet Makers

According to a report published by Information Week, certain major manufacturers are struggling with the Atom Z2760 processor software. The necessary drivers for their device are required to achieve better battery life and performance to compete with iPad and several top-notch Android tablets on the market. For now, it is confirmed that Dell's Latitude 10 and HP's Envy x2 are affected by the driver issues.

However HP and Dell aren't the only manufacturers having problems with drivers. Other tablet makers are also having problems to conform to Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs testing and already delayed their tablet for early next year. Among them are the Asus VivoTab Smart and the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2. From what we know, tablets will hit the market in January 2013.
