We previously reported that Gearbox had made a deal with Blackbird Interactive to use the Homeworld branding for their upcoming title, Homeworld: Shipbreakers. In a tweet Gearbox President Randy Pitchford said the game will not be free-to-play anymore.
The game was originally called Hardware: Shipbreakers, before the Gearbox/Blackbird deal and was slated to use a free-to-play business model when it launched.
In a tweet, Gearbox President Randy Pitchford commented that, "With our investment, Homeworld: Shipbreakers can be a proper commercial release. No need for F2P".
The developer's official website has not been updated with the new name, so you may want to keep an eye on it as more changes may be in store before it's release
