MasterCard has added fingerprint sensor technology to a physical credit card for the first time. Instead of requiring you to enter a PIN when the card is used, you can verify your identity by holding your finger to the card.
The card and the payment process attached to it don't differ in any way other than removing the need to enter a PIN.
MasterCard is testing these cards in South Africa and they've already gone through a couple successful trials. The company plans to roll them out globally by the end of this year.
