iPhone ownership in the United States has reached a new high point. ComScore reports there are 85.8 million iPhone owners over the age of 13, which is more than there have ever been. That's based on data from Q4 2016.
The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus account for 15% of that total figure, with the iPhone 6 and 6s accounting for 48.4%. It's estimated that 17.8% of users are still on an iPhone 5, 5s, or 5c.
Globally, Apple's iPhones are more popular than any other smartphone line.
ComScore says the iOS use rate among smartphone users in the US is 43%. Android was at 54% during Q4. BlackBerry and Windows Phone barely appeared in the research.
