Beta Slated For Planetary Annihilation Later This Month

In more Kickstarter related news, if you were one of the 44,000+ backers that helped fund the upcoming game Planetary Annihilation, you will want to keep an eye on Uber Entertainment's website as they are planning on launching the beta sometime this month.

In a recent update on their Kickstarter page, they stated that "'Beta' is the word of the month over here, as the team marches toward release."

Our current timeline is to see the beta released later this month. And as we've mentioned before, the beta has some cool mechanics and concepts that you haven't experienced in the alpha. Like, say, interplanetary war. And colonization. And blowing up planets. So much stuff.

If you are not familiar with the game, its' a Total Annihilation inspired real time strategy game on a planetary scale.

It's in development by Uber Entertainment, a studio created in 2008 by game industry veterans. The team at Uber are comprised of people who have worked on games such as Total Annihilation, Command & Conquer, Supreme Commander and Demigod. The two team leads are John Mavor, who wrote the graphics engine for Total Annihilation and was the Lead Programmer on Supreme Commander, and Steve Thompson who worked on Total Annihilation as well as being part of the crew at Gas Powered Games where he was an Art director for Dungeon Siege and Supreme Commander.
