Dell Teases Venue 8-inch Class Windows 8.1 Tablet

The Verge

Recent attempts by Intel to tame power envelopes of its Atom processors (codenamed "Bay Trail'), and laxed system requirements on Microsoft's Windows 8.1 culminated to Dell designing a new 8-inch class tablet running the two, under the now resurrected Venue brand.

The new Venue can be held across by one [biggish] hand. It comes with narrow long bezels, and thick short ones. Its 8.0-inch IPS display comes with full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Under its hood is an Atom Z3000-series "Bay Trail" SoC, wired to 2 GB of RAM. It runs Windows 8.1, and the company could be eyeing 10 hours of battery life on a full charge. Dell is expected to give out more details in early-October.
