Microsoft Won't Launch Surface Pro 5 This Year

Microsoft is rumoured to announce its next-generation products on May 23 in Shanghai, but if you were hoping to see the Surface Pro 5, then you'll be sorry to hear that such device does not exist and the software giant will probably just update the current lineup with better hardware.

Panos Panay, the corporate vice president for Surface, has stated that "there's no such thing as a Pro 5" and that "people using a Pro 4 have a product that's going to be competitive for five years." The good news is that he didn't rule out new devices, but this most likely means that a Surface Pro 4 refresh is to be unveiled on May 23, and not a new-generation model.
