In less than three days time, DOTA 2 fans will be treated to the first expansion pack for the free-to-play title by Valve. Dubbed 'First Blood', the update is of significant importance as it will introduce LAN functionality which will support up to 10 players. While players love playing DOTA 2 online (as Steam statistics have shown over the past couple of months), there are many who want to be able to play the game offline with friends over LAN, just like old times (with the original DOTA mod for Warcraft). Thankfully, Valve has been listening to fan requests, and 'First Blood' is the resultant of that.
In addition, a new game mode titled 'Captains Draft' will also be introduced with the update, which will land on both PC and Mac on September 23rd. All you have to do is log-in to your Steam client, and then invite your friends over for a DOTA 2 party.
