Intel is expected to announce its new architecture on August 21, the much anticipated Coffee Lake that will finally bring up decent performance improvements to notebooks. While there won't be significant performance improvements compared to current Kaby Lake processors with same number of cores and threads, the biggest news is adding more cores to Intel's U series that consume only 15W or less, and that were previously available only with two cores and four threads.
Acer Nitro AN515-31 has now been spotted featuring Intel Core i7-8550U processor, which is a 4C/8T processor. The notebook also packs 20 GB of DDR4, and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX graphics card. This is the first public appearance of 8th Gen Intel Core processor and the laptop is expected to be priced around $750.
