Firefox for Windows 8 Enters Aurora Channel

Mozilla has been teasing a Windows 8 version of their popular open source web browser, Firefox, for quite some time now. After what has been a very long wait (and it's almost time for Windows 8.1), the first milestone release of the in-development browser is now available via Mozilla's Aurora channel.

Firefox for Windows 8 pre-beta offers a touchscreen enabled experience to its users. Apart from touch and gesture support, there's Firefox Sync, WebGL, asm.js as well as hardware accelerated HTML5 video playback. Over the next couple of months, Mozilla will be focusing mainly on improving the performance and responsiveness of the browser. The stable version of Firefox for Windows 8 is slated for a January 2014 release.
