Project Reality, a mod project that started over eight years ago to bring more realism and tactical combat to both Battlefield 2 and Arma 2, is going to become it's own standalone, commercial product, the team has announced on their official game forums.
Since its inception over 8 years ago, Project Reality has built a large, dedicated community which has watched the mod evolve from a single forum post into one of the most successful and decorated modifications of its time. As Project Reality has continued to grow and branch out onto multiple game engines, one question has been continuously asked; Will Project Reality ever produce an independent game?
Well, today we are pleased to finally answer that question. The Project Reality team is proud to officially announce that we are currently developing a completely standalone PC game, Project Reality 2!
The game's development started the middle of last year, is being created using Crytek's Cry Engine 3, and is nearing an initial alpha phase which they hope to reach in the next couple of months. The team is also looking to hire some extra people, so if you have experience with Cry Engine 3, you may want to check out the project.
