The CyanogenMod team, having gone private, have made some changes to their product structuring. Focal, a part of the new CM Project which aims to develop a complete standalone camera app that is competitive with other camera apps, is now available on the Play Store as a standalone beta.

For a beta app, Focal has a set of features which look nearly complete. There's White Balance, Scene Mode, Effects, Exposure, Color, Burst Mode and even a Timer in the app. Also, the UI has been designed keeping in mind that a person using the phone as a camera will only be using one of his fingers (usually the thumb) to control the settings on the display. The end result is that Focal is already one of the better looking camera apps available on Play Store which offers the basics without making it all too cluttered.
