Microsoft's Surface Pro 2 is the first tablet that's able to smoothly play back RAW (lossless) video footage in the 6K (5760 x 3600 pixels) resolution, a feat that makes mainstream desktops and notebooks sweat. Microsoft is busy marketing the $899 tablet as a viable platform for content-creation as much as consumption, and feats like these help.
Surface Pro 2 runs an Intel Core i5-4200U dual-core processor, with CPU clock speeds of up to 2.60 GHz, and Intel HD Graphics 4400, which is capable of Ultra HD (3840 x 2160 pixels) display resolution, and acceleration of higher-resolution video. The chip features several advanced instruction sets, including SSE4, AVX, and AVX2, which benefit high-resolution video playback and transcoding. Its biggest feature that establishes its content-creation credentials, however, is its operating system. Windows 8.1 supports every PC Windows app ever made, including Adobe Creativity Suite.
