LG has filed two trademarks with the European Intellectual Property Office that cover processors known as the Kromax and Epik. The filings don't reveal much about the products, such as the kinds of devices the chips could end up powering. LG's makes appliances, TVs, smartphones, and many other kinds of products.
It's possible these processors are arising from a partnership between LG and Intel. They said last year they'd be collaborating on a "world-class mobile platform based on Intel Custom Foundry's 10nm design platform." LG's in-house processors could be the result of that work.
